The Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center’s
Autumn Day Trip will feature guided tours to the "Old Fort House
Museum" in Fort Edward, NY and to the "Slate Valley Museum" in
Granville, NY on Wednesday, October 13, 2010.
The Old Fort Museum was constructed in 1772 with timbers taken from the ruins of Fort Edward, a French and Indian War fortification. It was used both the American and British troops during the American Revolution and as an inn and tavern in later years.
The Slate Valley Museum documents the history of the slate industry and its ethnic and cultural impacts on the Slate Valley of New York and Vermont.
will be at the Granville Forum Restaurant. A hot and cold buffet consisting of hot entrees, salads, beverages and dessert.
DEPARTURE:
8:15 a.m. from the rear parking lot across from the Wesleyan Church, 75 Grace Street, Northside, Waterford. Approximate return to Waterford between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.
COST:
$70.00 for current members and $75.00 for not-yet members. Includes parking, motor coach transportation (Wade Tours), admission fees, guided tours and lunch.
